Nana Ntombela is a name that means nothing to most people. She lives in the tiny rural village of Gclima on KwaZulu-Natal’s south coast. She is poor, lives in an unstable mud structure. Her ablutions – a humiliating, fly-infested long drop toilet. On a daily basis Nana’s life is in every conceivable way harder than the lives of most us living in urban South Africa. Read more
