When auditions for the school's production of Romeo and Juliet are announced, Sara, Sophia and Bullethead all have their sights set on lead roles. With some encouragement from his girlfriend, Romeo agrees to try out for the part of Shakespeare's Romeo, too. However, once the auditions are complete, Sophia is Juliet, but Romeo finds the part he wanted belongs to their classmate, Lawrence. Meanwhile, after Cedric agrees to take care of his infant niece, he and Steve are kept awake all night by the baby's crying. As he and Sophia get to know Lawrence, Romeo is less than happy with what he sees. Despite Romeo's attempts to find a weakness, he only sees that Lawrence is perfect in just about every way. And when Sophia begins to have feelings for her handsome co-star, she turns to Regina for advice. Meanwhile, Steve is embarrassed after walking in on Regina as she's changing her clothes. During their first rehearsal, Lawrence and Sophia's kissing scene is repeatedly interrupted by the angry Romeo. Admitting to feeling he's losing her, Romeo then gives Sophia an ultimatum -- if she continues with the role, he's going to leave. And once Sophia forges ahead with the part, her kiss sends Romeo out the door.
