Philicity Reeken is a talented actress, voiceover artist and MC. Her passions include reading, cooking, shaking what her momma gave her and working smarter not harder. She lives at home with her 2 genius daughters, her 2 fantastic dogs and eternal hope.

Great Expectations is aimed primarily at women on maternity leave. It’s designed to help young mums with that life changing transition from woman to mother. Our goal is to guide you through the many delightful challenges of motherhood without losing your sense of humour!
If you are intimidated by the new pram, and don’t have a clue how to put your baby into the car seat, we are here for you. Equally if you are battling with more serious problems like Post Natal Depression or a little one with special needs, we offer a non-judgmental forum, a place to chat and share what you are going through.
And then of course there are the controversial age-old debates: Do you whip your breasts out in public to feed your baby or remove yourself from the public eye? Should you listen to your mother-in-law when she tells you the baby must just be left to cry herself to sleep? And will your office understand when you disappear into the boardroom to express yourself…with a breast pump, that is?
Well known radio presenter Sam Cowen is the perfect anchor for this show. A mother herself, she’s certainly walked this road. Her sharp sense of humour and warmth make her a perfect match for the Great Expectations ethos.
Great Expectations draws on top South African baby care expertise but also wants to hear from real parents with real stories. For this reason, the show is highly interactive with SMS and telephone call-in options.
Although aimed primarily at mothers on maternity leave, we believe the show will draw an audience from anyone who parents or has an interest in parenting – dads and grandparents most welcome!
