Dumi Masilela honoured in a touching memorial service
The late Rhythm City actor was remembered in a moving memorial service held on Wednesday at the Hope Restoration Ministries in Edenvale, Johannesburg.
Dumi Masilela passed away on Thursday, 3 August after being shot during an attempted hijacking.
His friends, family and colleagues gathered to remember him.
Rhythm City actors, Siphiwe Mtshali and Connie Tshuma were the programme directors.
Many of Dumi’s entertainment industry colleagues were there.
Dumi was celebrated as a passionate artist who loved what he did.
Dumi’s wife, Simphiwe Ngema said her late husband was perfect.
In a touching tribute to Dumi, Simphiwe said: “What comforts me is the fact that I saw God in Dumi. God lived through him.” She asked the attendees to stand up and praise God, because that is what Dumi would have done.
She went on to say that if God wanted him to live, he would have lived.
Dumi will be laid to rest on Saturday, 12 August.
