High School High tells the rose-colored adventures of Richard Clark (Jon Lovitz), a teacher who leaves the safe world of Wellington School, where his father is the respected headmaster, and travels into the otherworldly territory of a ghetto school so tough it has its own cemetery. There, his innocent and hopeful spirit charms - bewilders - one school official, Victoria Chappell (Tia Carrere), while at the same time rankles the realistic principal (Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher). Clark sees a beacon of hope in Griff McReynolds (Clockers Mehki Phifer), a tough kid with a surprising, hidden dream. The laughs come fast and furious in this irreverent, edgy comedy that spoofs classic high school films while exploring -and exaggerating-the confusing, sometimes terrifying world that is high school life today. This movie is ripped right from today's headlines, says producer David Zucker (Airplane!, the Naked Gun series). Then we just shredded it into even smaller pieces.
