Funny girl Sandra Bullock discovers a dramatic cure for a broken heart in the Thursday Chick Flick, Hope Floats.

Birdie (Bullock) experiences every married woman’s worst nightmare – finding out her husband is having an affair with her best friend and, worst of all, having it announced on national TV. Humiliated, heartbroken and homeless, she moves back to her hometown Smithville, Texas, with her daughter Bernice.

Starting over, though, is not as easy as it looks for Birdie, especially when she has to deal with her tumultuous relationship with her mother Ramona (Gena Rowlands), bitchy old friends and her handsome former flame, Justin (Harry Connick Jr.), who still loves her.
