The mentally unwell sex kitten editor of Scandal, she is also Tino's half-sister. They had an incestuous affair a good couple of years ago that ceased when they discovered they shared the same father. Shakira misses her surrogate mom who was grooming her in all things illegal - although she is actually the one responsible for Abigail's death after their bit of a fall out. That's most probably why she has such a love/hate relationship with dominating Donna. Even though it's obvious the new CEO wants her out, Shakira trembles to please at any cost.
To impress Donna with a sensational cover story, Shakira orchestrates a rash-risky lingerie shoot - with lesbian undertones - that features social climber, Katlego (played by real life celebrity, Khanyi Mbau). Shakira's job will be on the line.
