His soulful eyes, bad boy behaviour, a reputation as a womaniser and his hint of sensitivity have made young Daniel Romalotti Jr a firm favourite with young soapie addicts.
His mom is the devious vixen Phyllis Summers Newman (whom he's only recently become closer to), his stepdad is the wealthy Newman heir, Nick, and his father is rock star Danny Romalotti (although Phyllis's ex, Brian Hamilton, is Daniel's biological father). Despite his impressive parentage, Daniel manages to hold his own in Genoa City and is a well-liked photographer's assistant and an aspirant artist at his mom's magazine, Restless Style.
Like any young man, Daniel has broken a few hearts and had his broken too. In a classic Romeo and Juliet-style romance, he eloped with the beautiful Lily Winters. Their marriage was cut short, though, when she discovered his addiction to pornography and flirtation with troublemaker Amber Moore.
Following a brief romance with Assistant District Attorney Heather Williams (which helped him escape jail time for theft), Daniel eventually found true love with Amber, or so he thought. While she may have been instrumental in healing his rift with his father, Amber also broke Daniel's heart by sleeping with sexy professor Adrian Korbel and they've since ended their relationship.
Daniel is trying to get over Amber with rebound girl, Colleen Carlton, but whether this works remains to be seen. In his spare time, Daniel loves hanging out with his half-sister and step-brother, Summer and Noah Newman.
Hunky Daniel has been played by the gorgeous Michael Graziadei since 2004. Michael is of Italian descent and made his stage debut as a five-year-old in a theatre production of The King And I. An avid surfer, Michael also enjoys composing music and playing the guitar. As shocking as it sounds, he is only 14 years younger than actress Michelle Strafford, who plays his onscreen mom, Phyllis.
