e.tv’s Isitha: The Enemy to Conclude in April 2027
Johannesburg, 07 September 2026 — After more than three years of gripping storylines, action-packed drama and powerful performances, e.tv’s acclaimed drama series Isitha: The Enemy will come to an end on 23 April 2027, marking the conclusion of one of the channel’s most significant modern-day dramas.
Isitha: The Enemy holds a unique place in e.tv’s drama legacy. It is the only legacy drama from the previous generation still on the channel, so its conclusion is a significant moment as e.tv moves into new storytelling.
The series was born from the success of The Black Door, transforming its world and characters into Isitha: The Enemy in 2023. Since then, the series has carved out its own identity, captivating audiences with stories of family, betrayal, ambition, power and survival.
Its contributions to South African television have been recognised with prestigious industry awards, including SAFTA (South African Film & Television Awards) and the Royalty Soapie Awards, with wins and recognition across categories such as Best Achievement in Original Music/Score – Telenovela, Best Achievement in Cinematography, and Outstanding Light Direction.
As the final chapter approaches, viewers can expect Isitha: The Enemy to go out with the same intensity that has defined the series. The storyline will take audiences into the heart of the Bulldozed storyline, where the destruction of shacks threatens to destabilise lives and communities, setting off a chain of events filled with conflict, heartbreak and consequences. With death, unexpected twists and more new faces still to come, the road to the finale promises to be anything but predictable.
Helga Palmer, Group Head of Content Development & Strategy at eMedia Investments, said:
“Isitha: The Enemy has been an important part of e.tv’s storytelling journey, and we are incredibly proud of the impact it has made. As a spinoff of The Black Door, to becoming a powerful story in its own right, the series has entertained audiences, introduced memorable characters and demonstrated the strength of South African storytelling. As we prepare to close this chapter, we are also looking ahead with excitement. e.tv is entering a new wave of drama, bringing compelling stories, with a healthy mix of accomplished and new talent to our audiences. The conclusion of Isitha: The Enemy is not simply an ending, but a reflection of our commitment to continually evolve and give viewers stories that surprise, move and engage them.”
“Creating Isitha: The Enemy has been an incredible journey. We took the world of the Sokhulu family from The Black Door and opened it up into a new chapter, giving ourselves the opportunity to explore new characters, conflicts and stories while building something that could stand on its own.” Added Mandla N, Co-Founder & Executive Producer of Black Brain Pictures: “The response from audiences and the recognition the series has received along the way have meant a great deal to everyone involved. As we approach the final chapter, we want to leave viewers with the same spirit that has defined the show from the beginning — bold storytelling, unexpected twists and characters who refuse to be forgotten. There is still a lot of stories left to tell before we say goodbye, and audiences can expect the final stretch to be every bit as dramatic, emotional and unpredictable as the journey that brought us here.”
Among the exciting new additions to the world of Isitha: The Enemy is acclaimed actress and musician Kabelo “KB” Motsilanyane, who joins the series as Dineo Mtshali.
Beautiful, elegant and fiercely independent, Dineo is a successful fashion designer from Soweto who has spent years building a life far away from the chaos of her past. She is a woman who commands respect without demanding it, speaks her mind without apology and refuses to be intimidated by anyone.
But Dineo’s arrival is set to bring a new energy, and plenty of drama, into Mapholoba’s world.
As e.tv prepares to bid farewell to Isitha: The Enemy, audiences can look forward to a television landscape filled with new characters, fresh perspectives and compelling stories.
The end of Isitha: The Enemy is therefore not simply goodbye. It is a celebration of the journey, the impact and the legacy of a series that has entertained audiences for years — while opening the door to what comes next.
Viewers can continue watching Isitha: The Enemy on e.tv at 8:30PM, with the final episodes leading up to the series conclusion on 23 April 2027.
