About
Cora Hamilton is a teenage model living in New York. Her life looks perfect on the outside: magazines, cameras, and big city lights. But deep down, she feels trapped and tired. After a video of her goes wrong online, she needs a break from it all. Her mum, who’s also her manager, wants her to keep working, but Cora decides to escape.
She flies to Australia to stay with her Aunt Margot, who lives in a small, beachside town. The town is calm, quiet, and full of nature. At first, Cora feels out of place. There are no fancy parties or fashion shows, just the ocean, surfboards, and simple living. But soon, she starts to feel free.
As she learns to surf and makes new friends, Cora begins to discover who she really is. She helps her aunt with her dressmaking, learns about family history, and slowly finds joy in the little things. A local boy named Tom shows her around and helps her feel at home.
With time, Cora realizes she doesn’t want to go back to her old life, not the same way, at least. She wants to follow her own dreams, not just do what others expect.
Rip Tide is a gentle, heartfelt film about finding yourself, taking a break from pressure, and learning that life can be richer when you slow down. It’s about fresh starts, family love, and riding the waves of change. Cora’s journey reminds us that true beauty comes from within.
