Stay Cool

Henry McCarthy is a successful writer who left his small hometown years ago. Known for his best-selling book about life in high school, he is invited back to deliver a graduation speech at his old school. What should be a short visit turns into a journey through memory, regret, and unexpected feelings. 

Once back, Henry realises how little the town has changed and how much he still remembers about his teenage years. Old faces reappear, each reminding him of who he once was. Among them is Scarlet, his high-school crush, who is now older, wiser, but still stirs emotions Henry thought he had left behind. 

At the same time, he reconnects with his best friend Big Girl, who helps him navigate the mix of nostalgia and awkward reunions. Henry quickly discovers that coming home means more than making a speech; it forces him to confront choices he never made and words he never said. 

As he prepares to stand before the new graduates, Henry struggles with unfinished business from his past. Old rivalries, lost love, and the town’s familiar rhythms push him to reflect on who he is now and what really matters. The line between past and present blurs, making him realise that no matter how far we travel, parts of our youth always remain.
