The Wedding Year

The Wedding Year is a romantic comedy about love, commitment, and the chaos that comes with relationships. The story follows Mara, a young photographer living in Los Angeles. Mara enjoys her freedom and avoids anything that feels too serious. She prefers casual dating and is known for steering clear of long-term commitments. 

Her life takes a turn when she meets Jake, a charming and thoughtful man who is ready for a real relationship. Their connection is instant, and Mara begins to feel something she hasn’t felt before: genuine love. Just as their romance blossoms, invitations start arriving in the mail. Friends, family, and colleagues are all getting married, and Mara and Jake suddenly find themselves invited to seven weddings in the same year. 

Each wedding brings new challenges. From fancy formal ceremonies to quirky outdoor celebrations, Mara and Jake face constant questions from others about their own future. The pressure of bouquets, vows, and family expectations begins to weigh on Mara, who fears losing her independence. Jake, on the other hand, sees the weddings as a chance to grow closer and build a future together. 

As the year unfolds, their relationship is tested by awkward encounters, jealous exes, and family drama. Mara must decide whether she can embrace love fully or continue to hold back out of fear.
