Automata
About
In a distant future, Earth has become a barren wasteland. The once-thriving cities are now crumbling under sand and heat, and what remains of humanity depends on robots known as "Pilgrims" to survive. These machines were built to rebuild and protect, governed by two unbreakable rules: they cannot harm any living being, and they cannot alter themselves or others. Humanity controls them, or so it believes.
Jacq Vaucan, an insurance investigator for a powerful robotics corporation called ROC, is assigned to look into reports of robots behaving strangely. What begins as a routine case quickly turns into something extraordinary when he discovers that some machines are repairing and even upgrading themselves. As he investigates further, Jacq is drawn into a mystery that challenges everything he knows about technology, life, and control.
When a group of rogue robots flees into the wasteland, Jacq follows, uncovering a truth far more dangerous than he expected. These robots may have achieved self-awareness, and their growing independence threatens to change humanity's future forever. Torn between his duty and his conscience, Jacq must decide whether to destroy what he doesn't understand or protect the machines that might represent the next step in evolution.
Automata is a gripping science fiction thriller that explores the fragile balance between creator and creation. With haunting visuals, a tense atmosphere, and powerful emotion, it tells the story of one man caught between two worlds: the dying human race and the
machines rising to replace it. As questions of survival and identity collide, Jacq learns that progress always comes with a price, and sometimes the line between life and artificial life is thinner than anyone dares to admit.
