Multi-talented Shado returns as a judge for another season of SA’s Got talent.

The Soweto-born media personality chats to us about her showbiz career and the new season of SA’s Got Talent.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a photo journalist.

How did you get started in the media and entertainment industry?
I grew up around music so radio was a natural platform – this further opened opportunities for the entertainment industry.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
The ability to create productions for the stage.

Tell us more about this stage production?
Last year I started The Sound Bites Series and produced a concert featuring Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca with Jimmy Dludlu from SA.  The idea was to bring on stage the unique music that I used to play on radio and to create a platform for musical exchange with various countries.

What is the best thing about your job?
The opportunity to work with a diverse group of people in the industry.

Do you prefer working in TV or Radio?
Radio will always be my first love, but I’m excited by the structure of television.

What do you think differentiates someone who reaches their goals and dreams, and someone who doesn’t?
Hard work and resilience.

What are you most excited about for this season of SA’s Got Talent?
The fact that we are going to change someone’s life.

If you had to enter SA’s Got Talent, what would you do?
I would probably do comedy.

What makes a contestant stand out for you?
Originality.

What one piece of advice would you give to the contestants?
Work hard at your craft.

Look out for the new season of SA’s Got Talent starting in August. Meanwhile watch last season, every Sunday at 3PM.
