Scandal! will now be broadcast five days a week. Get ready for more nail-biting, intriguing and action-packed drama on Scandal!

The show will be extending its timeslot to include a Friday broadcast from 5 July 2013.

Scandal! has experienced momentous growth in viewership in the past few years, and due to the extensive demand from loyal viewers to extend the show, the channel had to undertake the additional weekly episode.

Since its inception in 2005, Scandal! has not only won numerous awards but also celebrated many milestones such as the 1 500th episode last year.

Scandal! is one of our prime soapies with an average viewership of 3million viewers each night,” says Monde Twala, e.tv channel head, Monde Twala.

“It is currently one of the fastest growing soapies in the country, and in this light we have undertaken to invest additional resources to continuously bring viewers more of their favourite TV production.  We have been inundated with requests  for more of the soapie and staying in line with our vision to grow our local content and to give our viewers the very best, we have decided to add an additional episode per week.”

The decision to extend the Scandal! offering has been warmly welcomed by Ochre Media, the production company that produce the daily drama.

“The entire Production team is thrilled that our tireless efforts in bringing a quality and relevant production to viewers has not only been embraced, but is in such demand that we can extend the soapie to a 5-day timeslot,” says series producer Ilse van Hemert.

“The decision has been carefully planned, and viewers can anticipate new faces, new sets and more gritty drama in the forthcoming months. We have the utmost faith that our fans will not be disappointed with what we have in store.”

Besides bringing ground-breaking storylines to South African television, Scandal! is also involved in strong community building initiatives including Scandal! Cares. Most recently, the soap formed a partnership with the World Bank to teach its viewers about debt management.

The additional weekly timeslot for Scandal! has resulted in another programming change on e.tv.

From 6 July 2013 Mzansi’s favourite music show Club 808 will debut in an all new timeslot every Saturday at 7:30PM.

Scandal! fans can look forward to the following exciting storylines in the next few months:

• Could this be the end of Daniel Nyathi?
• Are Erin and Tino finally going to have a baby?
• Does Quinton fully maximise his new title as a Nyathi?
• What happens when Thembeka’s father comes to town – in tow with a fiancé she despises?
• Is there another wedding in the pipeline this year?
• Will tragedy strike the Ngema family?
• Who is Cameron Jansen, and what’s his secret?

Don’t miss a minute of the action. Scandal! Monday to Friday at 7:30PM from 5 July.
