AA expects another fuel hike

The petrol price looks set to increase by around R1.00 next month.

That’s according to the Automobile Association which says fuel prices across the board will be hiked dramatically in November.

The AA expects the price of diesel and illuminating paraffin to increase by more than R1.40. If the association’s predictions are correct motorists will be paying more than R19 for a litre of petrol. It says by the end of the year we could be paying as much as R20 per litre for fuel.

AA spokesperson Layton Beard says the massive hike is attributed to the rising cost of Brent crude oil.

The AA usually previews the fuel data while government makes the final petrol price adjustment announcement in the last week of the month.
