Broken lifts at Durban hospital

Healthcare workers at Durban’s Addington Hospital returned to work on Thursday following a meeting with government officials.

Staff members downed tools on Wednesday after they reached their wits’ end over lifts which are out of order.

It’s alleged that only one out of ten lifts at the hospital is functional, which has forced some patients to walk up to 13 flights of stairs, to get medical attention.
