Carltonville crèche caregiver found guilty

A year ago, videos of a caregiver beating children at a crèche in Carltonville in the North West went viral.

In the three videos, the crèche employee, Nelli Sentwamietsi was captured, repeatedly smacking three toddlers, and beating one over the head with a wooden scrubbing brush.

This week, she was found guilty of one count of assault with intention to do grievous bodily harm and two counts of common assault and will be sentenced in September.

Activist group, Women and Men Against Child Abuse, fought to bring the case to court, after several postponements.
