DA election poster backfires

Inflammatory, insensitive and ill-timed.

That’s how one diversity expert has described the Democratic Alliance’s divisive election poster in Phoenix.

The posters which read: ‘The ANC calls you racists, the DA calls you heroes’ has raised the ire of the public.

It's even got some of the party’s own members hot under the collar.

But the DA has defended its stance saying Phoenix residents had the right to defend their properties during the July unrest. 

Diversi-T Managing Director Terry Oakley Smith says this is a setback for reconciliation efforts in the Phoenix community.
