E Cape school’s pit toilets on the verge of collapse

Residents from the Nyandeni Village in the Eastern Cape are worried about the safety of school children in their area.

They say they've heard about gruesome incidents, where pupils have fallen into pit latrine toilets and they fear that this could happen to their children.

More than four hundred pupils at the Nonesi Junior Secondary School in the village have to share six rundown pit latrine toilets,

and parents say this is not ideal. Reporter Mbasa Khwaza has more.
