Fire damage assessments underway

The fierce Cape winds have abated enough to allow fire crews to call in aerial support to bring the devastating wild fire under control.

The smoke hanging over large parts of the City has also cleared and firefighters are concentrating on damping down possible flare-ups.

It's now up to structural engineers to establish how much damage the fire has caused.
