IEC to head to Concourt tomorrow

Tomorrow, the Electoral Commission will present its legal arguments to the Constitutional Court to postpone the October municipal elections.

It’s looking to the apex court to rubber stamp a recommendation by retired Justice Dikgang Moseneke, who found our elections won't be free and fair if held under the current pandemic conditions.

The country's highest court is allowing political parties to support or oppose the application.

Four lobby groups and NGOS will be admitted as friends of the court, and will also be allowed to make submissions. Among them is Freedom Under Law.

CEO, Nicole Fritz, joined us to discuss this matter.
