Mogoeng goes on long leave

With somewhat of a dark cloud hanging over his head,

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has gone on long leave. His leaves comes five months before his term ends in October.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Sisi Khampepe, as acting chief justice.

Khampepe is a Harvard graduate, who served on the TRC Commission. She's been a Constitutional Court justice since 2009.

Mbekezeli Benjamin, from Judges Matter, says this is a very significant moment.
