The plight of EPWP workers

People who’re employed by the Expanded Public Works Programme are some of the lowest paid workers in the country.  

The program was initiated in 2004 to provide income opportunities for lower skilled, unemployed people. 

But in recent years these workers have called on government to employ them permanently.

They’ve also raised serious concerns of being exploited on the job.
