Worries for pregnant women who contract Covid-19

We’ve been through this before and we know there will still be those who choose to ignore the rules. If the President’s restrictions are not enough, perhaps this story will resonate.

Jan Simonsz-Coe is 35. She and her husband contracted COVID-19 at the peak of the second wave earlier this year.

Jan was 23 weeks pregnant. What followed is almost unimaginable.

Pulmonologist Laila Suleman was part of the team of doctors that took care of Jan during her four months in hospital.

One of the reasons Jan decided to speak out was to warn pregnant women and younger people about the risks of the virus.

Dr Laila Suleman joined us to talk about the impact of COVID-19 on young people and the risks for pregnant women.
