About
In the 1930s, ambitious filmmaker Carl Denham is desperate to make a movie that will change his fortunes. He gathers a small film crew, a struggling actress named Ann Darrow, and a daring writer, Jack Driscoll, to join him on an expedition to a mysterious, uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean, Skull Island.
What starts as a filmmaking adventure quickly becomes a terrifying fight for survival. When the group arrives, they find an island full of danger giant insects, prehistoric creatures, and an isolated tribe that worships a powerful being known only as Kong. The tribe kidnaps Ann and offers her as a sacrifice to the enormous gorilla-like creature who rules the island.
Instead of harming her, Kong develops a strange bond with Ann, protecting her from the island’s deadly beasts. Meanwhile, the crew risk their lives battling the island’s creatures in a desperate attempt to rescue her. Seeing Kong as the ultimate discovery, Carl becomes obsessed with capturing the beast and bringing him back to New York to show the world.
Back in the city, Kong is chained and put on display as a public attraction. But when he breaks free, his search for Ann leads to chaos across Manhattan. Their connection reaches its heartbreaking end atop the Empire State Building as military planes circle above.
A story of wonder, courage, and tragedy unfolds, revealing the beauty and danger of both human ambition and nature’s power.
