City of Joburg does U-turn on power cuts

Well, it seems the City of Johannesburg has had to do a U-turn on its loadshedding position.

After rejecting loadshedding City Power and Eskom have agreed to work together in the national interest to protect the power grid.

This despite City Power asking to be excluded from stages one and two of loadshedding due to a new agreement with a privately-owned coal station.

We spoke to energy expert Lungile Mashele on Monday. She believes this is politics and electioneering and totally unacceptable.
