'Final defence against corruption'

Not everyone mentioned in the State Capture report acted out of self-interest.

This is what Judge Raymond Zondo had to say about whistleblower, Cynthia Stimpel. She exposed Dudu Myeni's alleged reign of terror and the depths of corruption at SAA.

On page 195 of the report, Judge Zondo writes: "There can be little doubt that, but for the actions of Ms Stimpel, the BNP transaction would have gone ahead in one form or another. It was her unwavering commitment to proper procurement processes that made her stand up to what was going on around her, at great personal cost to herself."

Stimpel spoke to us following the release of the report and says she feels vindicated.
