Gauteng’s unrest recover plan

It’s probably going to take years to recover from the damage and destruction left after the violent unrest in Gauteng and KZN two weeks ago.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura says the damages amount to over R3 billion and 14 500 jobs have been affected.

This couldn’t have come at a worse time given the extent of the third COVID-19 wave in Gauteng.

That means there’s a monumental task ahead to rebuild the economy and our infrastructure. 

What is the province’s plan and is it achievable?
