Jerusalem clashes leave 300 injured

Tensions are escalating in Jerusalem.

More than 300 people have been injured in clashes between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police. Much of today’s violent protests have centred around the Al-Aqsa mosque - a key holy site in Jerusalem.

CCTV footage has emerged of a man allegedly ploughing his car into stone-throwing protesters. The violence started ahead of a planned Jewish nationalist march.

While at the same time a supreme court hearing on the imminent expulsion of Palestinian families from their homes in an East Jerusalem neighbourhood was postponed.

For the latest on this story we spoke to Maral Quttieneh, a journalist in Palestine. She says the tensions and conflict started as far back as 1967.
