Joburg City hackers were 'inexperienced'

At least one tech expert believes the recent cyberattack on the City of Johannesburg's internet servers, was carried out by very inexperienced hackers.
Last week, a group calling itself "Shadow Kill Hackers" breached the city's network. It demanded payment of four bitcoins, which works out to just over R400-thousand by Monday. The hackers threatened to upload all private data they had gained from the city's servers. But the ransom hasn't been paid and no information's been released.
