'A lolly to make you jolly'

Some sad news for local cricket fans. Western Province Cricket confirmed the death of legendary ice-cream vendor Moegamat Cassiem earlier today.

Affectionately known by the Newlands faithful as Boeta Cassiem he worked at both cricket and rugby grounds for the last 55 years
where he was a favorite with both fans and players. mHe'll be fondly remembered for his charming wit and memorable catch phrases in the stands.
