More dodgy Digital Vibes exposed

New details of the irregular R150 million communications contract between the Health Department and a company called Digital Vibes are raising even more alarm bells today.

According to the Daily Maverick, Digital Vibes inflated charges to the department by more than 300 percent for the creation of an animated mascot for the National Health Insurance. The mascot, a Nguni cow dressed as a doctor reportedly cost Digital Vibes R266 000.

Daily Maverick Investigative Journalist Pieter Louis Myburgh says the company used an animation studio to create the character and reportedly sent the department an invoice for R1.2 million.
