Potential taxi peace deal

Warring taxi associations in the Western Cape are locked in an arbitration process to determine who controls a contested thoroughfare into Cape Town.

A legal arbitrator is meeting with Codeta and Cata’s legal team this week before making its ruling. At the same time the UDM’s Bantu Holomisa and Saftu General Secretary Zwelinzima Vavi have tried to help broker a peace deal. The pair believe they’ve successfully broken the deadly impasse.
