Public to have a say on new chief justice

It's the highest seat in the judiciary and now for the first time the public will get to be a part of the process of selecting the next chief justice.

President Cyril Ramaphosa today called for public nominations for the esteemed position. 

Judge Mogoeng Mogoeng’s current term comes to an end on the 11th of October.

There’s just two weeks before the close of nominations.

Today Constitutional law expert Pierre De Vos explained how the process works.
