‘Residents must be pro-active’

Law enforcement authorities are being praised for their swift response, to supposed plans of another mass shutdown. Thousands of police and law enforcement officers were deployed to hotspots in Johannesburg today, in a bid to avert possible violence and looting.

Nhlanhla Lux, a community leader and leader of the Soweto Parliament, says there’s been a strong police presence in Soweto. But he says residents shouldn’t take a back seat and need to be pro-active.
