SA transport sector left decimated

The transport industry has been devastated by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Greyhound says it will stop operations on Valentine’s Day, and nearly 700 workers are set to lose their jobs.  

On Thursday, Putco announced it will be retrenching more than 200 staff.

Workers at SAA also haven’t been paid for months.

So what does the future hold for employees in this industry?

We asked Solomon Mahlangu, national coordinator at the South African Transport and Allied Workers union.
