SALGA responds to AG municipality report

On Wednesday, the Auditor-General released his report into the financials of the country’s municipalities, showing illegal expenditure of R32 billion and R2 billion in fruitless and wasteful expenditure. 

The South African Local Government Association (SALGA), however, says that the state of governance in municipalities could only change if municipal leaders are held accountable. 

We spoke to Salga president, Thembi Nkadimeng.
