SANDF targets ‘black gold’ poachers

Military resources have been deployed to try to break the back of the gang-controlled abalone trade dominant along the Western Cape's False Bay coast. Several tons of sought-after perlemoen are illegally harvested from our seas every day amounting to millions of rand. The delicacy is highly prized in Eastern markets.
