SIU freezes R22m in Digital Vibes bank accounts

From Digital Vibes to digital woes.

The Special Investigating Unit says it's been granted an order to freeze up to R22 million held in the bank accounts linked to the Digital Vibes communications company.

The unit says it is also seeking another order to ensure that Digital Vibes pays back all losses suffered by the Health Department as a result of a dodgy R150 million contract.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize is currently on special leave after it emerged that Digital Vibes is run by two of his close associates.

SIU spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago says the next move is to ask the Special Tribunal to declare the contract unlawful and invalid.
