Steinhoff paying for NPA probe

It’s been almost five years since the first alarm bells went off, signalling the country’s biggest corporate fraud case ever.

Former Steinhoff CEO Markus Jooste resigned about a year after this, resulting in the company’s share price, nosediving.

Since then there’s been a cacophony of voices asking why Jooste is still a free man.

Is he finally about to be charged by German authorities?

We had a chat to Rob Rose, a journalist who has been following this story from the onset.

He’s also the author of the book Steinheist.

Rose says corporate crimes usually drag on for years and South Africans can expect Jooste to do the very same.
