Teens can now donate bone marrow

Teens as young as 16 and 17 can now become bone marrow and stem-cell donors.

This comes after the South African Bone Marrow Registry received permission from the National Health Department to allow 16 and 17-year-old’s to register as donors.

To discuss this in more detail, we spoke to Dr Charlotte Ingram, the medical director for the SA Bone Marrow Registry.
