Time to push for more vaccines

After a slow start to our vaccine rollout experts are calling for government to develop a pro-active vaccine strategy.

SA’s leading scientists have criticised several missteps in our vaccine programme which has left the country trailing behind the rest of the continent.

They’re concerned about the devastating third wave and the impact of the powerful Delta variant.

Professor Alex Van Den Heever from Wits University’s School of Governance says the country needs to enter into negotiations for updated vaccines.
