W Cape over its COVID-19 peak
The Western Cape has passed its COVID-19 peak and early indications reveal the province is nearing the end of its fourth wave.
Provincial health says active infections remain high, but due to lower than expected hospitalisation figures, some field hospitals in Cape Town and the Garden Route haven’t been needed.
The provincial administration believes now is the right time to drop the State of Disaster.
