Will food prices increase too?

Lower income households can expect things to get more tough as a result of the recent electricity and fuel hikes.

The rise in these costs are expected to impact food prices.

This is according to Mervyn Abrahams, the programme coordinator for the Pietermaritzburg Economic Justice and Dignity group.

Abrahams says people may not be able to spend as much as they did a year ago.
