Limpopo schools’ pit toilet case continues

The fight to get rid of pit toilets at schools in Limpopo will continue in court tomorrow.

This comes six years after five-year-old Michael Komape died after he fell into a pit toilet at school. Since then advocacy groups Equal Education and Section 27 have been fighting to eradicate pit toilets in Limpopo to avoid the deaths of more pupils.

It remains an ongoing problem and Section 27's Motheo Brodie says they will ask the court to appoint an independent sanitation task team to look into the matter.
