Skeitla is a physical man, who has worked with his hands his whole life.

He has the certainty in his own physical being that comes from that. He is not afraid of physical action. In fact, he enjoys it.

He is not a deep thinker – he runs on emotion. He is a man’s man – always ready with a joke, always ready for a drink. When he drinks, he gets emotional – and sometimes that emotion is fun, and sometimes it’s dark and dangerous.

Skeitla has a chip on his shoulder – he thinks he has been screwed by life – why did his younger sister get all the breaks? But while he may say that he would’ve done as well as Miriam given the chance, in his deep heart of hearts he knows he isn’t an intellectual, and it has taken some building for him and Miriam to get their relationship to the good place it is in.

They are now inseparable, apart from his wife, Miriam is the only family that he has.
