Tjoppie finally confronts Veronique about the affair — leaving her stunned and scrambling. She confides in Gershwin, who sees it as a way forward… until Veronique declares she’s not giving up Soebatskloof without a fight. Meanwhile, Tjoppie gets another shock when Hermien asks him to take over the running of the farm.

Shifting power dynamics ripple through the farm. Tjoppie tells the workers he's now in charge — and bluntly informs Veronique that they will not be running things together. The pressure mounts on Veronique as she’s torn between power and love, especially when Joyce urges her to make things right with Gershwin before it’s too late.

As the week ends, Tjoppie begins showing signs of drug use. Unbeknownst to him, Veronique is drugging his cocoa with codeine, slipped to her by Trevor. While Gershwin still believes Veronique is leaving Tjoppie, Joyce begins to suspect a far darker truth is unfolding…
