Rough Streets and High Stakes: Why Atlantis is the Must-Watch
If you’ve ever sat in the back of a Toyota Quantum, gripped your seat during a high-speed lane change, or felt the heavy tension of the Cape Flats at dusk, then the latest eOriginals film is going to hit close to home.
The film follows Ray (played by Bronte Snel), a young woman navigating the male-dominated, high-octane world of the minibus taxi industry. But Ray isn’t just fighting for fares; she’s fighting for family.
The Heart of the Story: Atlantis to Cape Town
Ray spends her days shuttling workers from the struggling town of Atlantis to the gleaming skyscrapers of Cape Town. It’s a route many South Africans know by heart—the long commute, the early mornings, and the constant hustle.
However, the routine is shattered when her brother goes missing. Her search leads her away from the taxi ranks and into the dark underbelly of local gangs. As she peels back the layers of his disappearance, Ray discovers that her brother might be deeper into the criminal world than she ever imagined.
Atlantis, Sunday 15 February at 8PM.
