e.tv Celebrates Major Wins at the SAFTAs as Its Productions and Talent Take Centre Stage

e.tv proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement at the prestigious South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), where the channel’s productions and exceptional talent were recognised for their excellence, powerful storytelling, and outstanding performances. These accolades reaffirm e.tv’s continued commitment to delivering compelling local content that resonates with South African audiences. 

Leading the wins was the gripping factual production Confessions of an Assassin: Why I Killed Chris Hani – An Annika Larsen Special Report, which took home the award for Best Factual Programme. The production was recognised for its brave and insightful exploration of one of South Africa’s most significant historical moments.

e.tv’s flagship soapie Scandal! also emerged as one of the big winners of the evening. The show received the award for Best TV Soap and was further honoured with Best Achievement in Directing – TV Soap, highlighting the strength of its creative vision and production excellence. 

The channel also celebrates individual acting honours from Scandal! stars, including Litlhonolofatso Litlhakanyane, who won Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap for his compelling performance, and Londeka Sishi, who took home Best Actress in a TV Soap for her powerful portrayal of Busisiwe. Their wins are a testament to the depth of talent nurtured within e.tv productions and the emotional connection these characters have built with viewers across the country. 

e.tv also celebrates the success of the powerful feature film Death of a Whistleblower, which won Best Feature Film as well as Best Achievement in Directing – Feature Film for director Ian Gabriel. These awards recognise the film’s bold storytelling, strong direction, and its contribution to meaningful South African cinema.

Adding to the channel’s success, Kelders van Geheime received the award for Best Achievement in Original Score – Telenovela, with composer Loki Rothman being recognised for creating a powerful musical landscape that enhances the emotional depth and drama of the series.
